Purchasing & Import Coordinator – Construction Sector
My client in Bambous is seeking a highly organised and commercially sharp Purchasing & Import Coordinator to manage end‑to‑end procurement and import operations within a fast‑paced construction environment. This role is central to ensuring materials are sourced competitively, delivered on time, and fully aligned with project and budget requirements.
Key Responsibilities
– Process purchase requisitions and issue approved Purchase Orders with complete and accurate details.
– Maintain and manage the Open Purchase Order Register, ensuring daily supplier follow‑ups, on‑time deliveries, and immediate escalation of delays.
– Coordinate all import shipments, liaising with freight forwarders, customs brokers and suppliers to ensure smooth clearance and delivery.
– Monitor supplier performance, negotiate favourable terms, and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
– Work closely with Project Managers and Stores to prioritise urgent requirements and ensure correct job costing.
– Maintain accurate procurement records in Zoho/QuickBooks and submit weekly/monthly procurement and import reports.
Requirements
– Diploma or Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics or Business Administration.
– 3–5 years’ experience in procurement and import coordination, ideally within construction or contracting.
– Strong knowledge of international procurement, shipping, customs procedures and Incoterms.
– Excellent negotiation, planning and stakeholder management skills.
– High attention to detail, accountability and ability to work under pressure.
