Job Description

Our client is looking for a Junior Finance Officer to support the day-to-day financial and accounting activities of the organisation. The successful candidate will assist with financial transactions, reconciliations, reporting and administrative duties while ensuring accuracy and compliance with established procedures.

This role is suited to a motivated finance professional who is detail-oriented, organised and keen to develop their experience across different areas of finance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the recording and processing of financial transactions.
  • Prepare and process invoices, receipts, payments and other accounting documents.
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
  • Perform bank and account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with monthly closing activities, including accruals, prepayments and expense analysis.
  • Support the preparation of financial reports and management information.
  • Assist with monitoring outstanding receivables and supplier balances.
  • Maintain proper filing of financial and accounting documentation.
  • Assist with VAT, tax and other statutory reporting requirements where applicable.
  • Support internal and external audit requirements by providing relevant documentation and information.
  • Liaise with internal departments, suppliers and other stakeholders on finance-related matters.
  • Ensure financial procedures and internal controls are followed.
  • Perform other finance-related duties as assigned by the Finance Manager or Senior Finance Officer.

Candidate Profile

  • Diploma, Degree or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience in an accounting or finance environment would be an advantage.
  • Fresh graduates with relevant qualifications may also be considered.
  • Good knowledge of accounting principles and basic financial processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with accounting software or ERP systems would be an advantage.
  • Good numerical and analytical skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Well-organised, methodical and able to meet deadlines.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality when handling financial information.
