Job Description
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Officer to join their finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the organisation’s financial operations by maintaining accurate financial records, processing financial transactions, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and statutory requirements.
This position is ideal for an organised professional with strong analytical skills, a high level of integrity, and the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic business environment.
Key Responsibilities
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
Prepare and issue invoices, credit notes and payment vouchers.
Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash movements.
Record financial transactions accurately within the accounting system.
Assist with monthly, quarterly and year-end financial closing activities.
Prepare reconciliations of general ledger accounts.
Maintain fixed asset and inventory records where applicable.
Process supplier payments and follow up on outstanding customer balances.
Assist with payroll processing and statutory submissions where required.
Prepare VAT schedules and support statutory filings.
Assist in the preparation of management accounts, budgets and financial reports.
Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
Provide support during internal and external audits.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies and relevant legislation.
Perform any other finance-related duties as assigned.
Candidate Profile
Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
ACCA Level 1 or Level 2 (or equivalent qualification) will be an advantage.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a finance or accounting role.
Sound understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
Knowledge of VAT and Mauritian statutory requirements will be an advantage.
