Investment Analyst

Job Description

Our client is seeking an Investment Analyst Investment Analyst to support the investment and finance team in the monitoring, valuation and financial analysis of the company’s portfolio of renewable energy assets and projects. The role will involve financial modelling, valuation analysis, investment monitoring and performance reporting across multiple geographies and technologies.

Key Responsibilities
Investment Monitoring
• Monitor the financial performance of the company’s portfolio and projects.
• Review operational and financial performance against investment plans and budgets.
• Support the preparation of quarterly portfolio reviews and investment performance reports.
• Track key financial and operational KPIs across portfolio assets.

Valuation Analysis
• Prepare and update periodic valuations of portfolio companies and investments.
• Perform DCF, comparable transactions and market multiple analyses.
• Support fair value assessments for financial reporting purposes.
• Maintain valuation models and supporting documentation for audit purposes.

Financial Modelling
• Build and maintain financial models for renewable energy projects and investments.
• Perform sensitivity analysis and scenario analysis to support investment decisions.
• Support project structuring, including financing assumptions and capital structure optimisation.

Investment Analysis
• Support evaluation of new investment opportunities, including:
o financial modelling
o valuation analysis
o return metrics (IRR, NPV, payback)
• Prepare investment memoranda and presentations for internal committees and the Board.
• Assist with due diligence processes for new projects or acquisitions.

Reporting and Strategic Support
• Contribute to internal investment reporting and portfolio analytics.
• Assist in preparing materials for investor reporting and strategic reviews.
• Support ad-hoc financial analysis and strategic initiatives.

Profile
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Financial Engineering, Economics or a related field.

Experience
• Investment Analyst: 2-4 years of experience preferably with experience in the banking sector

Technical Skills
• Strong financial modelling skills in Excel
• Experience with valuation methodologies (DCF, multiples, comparables)
• Ability to analyse financial statements and project financial performance
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills
