The Role
We are seeking an experienced Logistics Team Leader to oversee and coordinate our day-to-day logistics and warehouse operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the smooth movement of goods throughout the supply chain while leading a logistics team to deliver operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and exceptional customer service.
The successful candidate will work closely with warehouse, procurement, finance, sales, shipping agents, customs authorities, and international suppliers to ensure efficient importation, storage, and distribution of goods across our regional markets.
Key Responsibilities:
Logistics Operations
1. Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics activities to ensure efficient product movement.
2. Monitor import shipments from suppliers through to warehouse reception.
3. Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs brokers, and regulatory authorities.
4. Ensure timely customs clearance and compliance with all import and export regulations.
5. Coordinate deliveries to customers across duty-free and domestic channels.
6. Monitor logistics performance and implement continuous process improvements.
Warehouse & Inventory Management
1. Supervise warehouse operations to ensure accurate stock handling and storage.
2. Coordinate stock transfers between warehouses and Freeport facilities.
3. Monitor inventory levels and support stock planning to prevent shortages or overstock.
4. Ensure stock accuracy through regular reconciliation and inventory controls.
5. Maintain compliance with company quality, safety, and operational procedures.
Team Leadership
1. Supervise, motivate, and develop the logistics team.
2. Plan daily activities and allocate resources effectively.
3. Monitor individual and team performance to ensure operational targets are achieved.
4. Promote a positive, safe, and collaborative working environment.
5. Provide coaching and training to team members where required.
Operational Coordination
1. Work closely with Procurement, Sales, Finance, and Warehouse teams to ensure seamless operations.
2. Coordinate with suppliers and service providers to resolve operational issues promptly.
3. Prepare logistics reports, KPIs, and operational updates for management.
4. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer service.
Compliance & Continuous Improvement
1. Ensure compliance with customs regulations, Freeport requirements, and company policies.
2. Monitor logistics documentation and maintain accurate operational records.
3. Participate in process improvement initiatives to optimise supply chain performance.
4. Support audits and ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.
Profile
1. Minimum qualification: Higher School Certificate (HSC), Diploma, or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
2. Professional qualifications in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Procurement (such as CIPS or equivalent) will be an advantage.
3. Minimum 5 years’ experience in logistics, warehouse operations, import/export, or supply chain management.
4. Previous experience leading or supervising a logistics or warehouse team is essential.
5. Strong knowledge of customs procedures, freight forwarding, shipping documentation, and inventory management.
6. Good understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP systems.
7. Excellent planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
8. Strong communication and leadership abilities.
9. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
10. A valid driving license will be an advantage.
