Data and Operations Analyst

Job Description

Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Reporting
• Collect, clean, and analyse large datasets from multiple sources to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualisations using tools such as Power BI or Excel.
• Produce regular and ad hoc reports for senior management and cross-functional teams.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics, flagging anomalies and areas requiring attention.

Operations Support
• Collaborate with operations, finance, and commercial teams to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency.
• Support the planning and execution of operational projects and initiatives.
• Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in existing processes and propose data-driven solutions.
• Assist in the development and documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Data Management & Quality
• Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across all reporting platforms and databases.
• Support data pipeline management and ETL processes.
• Maintain data governance standards in compliance with local regulations (including the Data Protection Act 2017 of Mauritius).

Stakeholder Engagement
• Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear, non-technical manner.
• Liaise with internal departments to understand data needs and translate them into analytical solutions.
• Participate in cross-departmental meetings and contribute to a data-driven culture within the organisation.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential
• Bachelor’s degree in data science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a data analysis or operations analyst role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced level: pivot tables, VLOOKUP, Power Query).
• Experience with at least one BI tool (Power BI).
• Strong SQL skills for querying and manipulating relational databases.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and/or French.

Desirable
• Familiarity with ERP systems (SAGE or any other ERP).
• Experience working in sectors such as financial services, tourism, retail, or manufacturing.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
