Job Description

The procurement Officer is responsible for managing the company’s purchasing activities, negotiating contracts, sourcing vendors related to automobiles while ensuring cost efficiency and quality. The Officer is also responsible for supply chain monitoring and inventory control while maintaining compliance with Procurement policies.

Tasks:
– Prepare and generate monthly stock orders in line with approved reordering parameters. Review requisitions and submit firm orders and express orders for automobile parts and services.
– Research and evaluate automobile suppliers based on price, quality, reliability, and reputation. Negotiate and administer contracts with vendors to determine reasonable prices and ensure compliance with obligations.
– Find and execute procurement solutions for unavailable parts to reduce lead times.
– Maintain close follow-up with stakeholders and provide continuous updates on estimated time of arrivals (ETAs).
– Maintain an electronic records of purchased items, costs, and inventories. Produce monthly reports on key procurement KPIs, including sea-to-air ratio, fill rates, stock-outs, and lead times.
– Monitor market conditions and price trends for automobile parts and review industry catalogues to locate the required goods.
– Execute administrative tasks as assigned by the Head of Procurement and assist in training or supervising purchasing clerks.
– Monitor shipments to ensure that goods come in on time, and resolve problems related to undelivered goods.

Required Skills:
Strong interpersonal skills to negotiate and renegotiate contracts with suppliers.
Highly detail-oriented and committed to accuracy in record-keeping and data analysis.
Minimum of a university degree with at least 2 years of professional experience in procurement (PR), ideally in the automobile sector.
Proficiency in IT tools and expertise in stock management software (ERP).
