We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced DG Compliance Officer to join our team.

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dangerous Goods Compliance Officer to oversee and ensure the compliance of our global operations involving the transportation of Dangerous Goods (DG) Class 7 by air and road. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of DG regulations, including IATA DGR (Class 7), ADR, and possible IAEA directives as well. This role is critical in maintaining the safety, security, and regulatory compliance of our operations, while also managing vendor compliance and supporting the team with regulatory guidance and quality-related tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure full compliance with all applicable Dangerous Goods regulations, including IATA DGR (Class 7) for air transport and ADR for road transport.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of IAEA directives and ensure their implementation in all relevant operations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain an administrative system to secure and control compliance across all global operations involving DG Class 7 transportation.

Vendor Management:

  • Screen and onboard vendors related to Dangerous Goods transportation, ensuring they meet all regulatory and safety requirements.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate vendor performance to ensure ongoing compliance with DG regulations.
  • Develop and manage a vendor compliance database, documenting all relevant certifications, audits, and compliance checks.

Non-Conformance Reporting (NCR):

  • Register, investigate, and handle Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) related to DG compliance.
  • Implement corrective actions and follow-up measures to resolve any non-compliance issues.

Team Support:

  • Provide expert guidance and support to the team on regulatory and compliance-related questions.
  • Participate in customer meetings to address any regulatory or compliance concerns related to Dangerous Goods transportation.
  • Assist in the development and documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and other quality-related documents in alignment with ISO standards.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to enhance compliance processes and procedures.
  • Stay informed of changes in DG regulations and update internal practices accordingly.
  • Promote a culture of safety and compliance within the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA).
  • In-depth knowledge of IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) including Class 7, and ADR regulations.
  • Strong understanding of IAEA directives related to the transport of Class 7 Dangerous Goods will be an advantage.
  • Min. 5 years of proven experience in managing compliance and safety in a global transportation environment
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills, with a focus on accuracy and detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with vendors, team members, and customers.
  • Experience in documenting procedures and working with ISO/quality management systems is an advantage.
