Job Title: Logistics Officer (Airfreight)
Location: Ebene, Mauritius
Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Logistics Officer with airfreight experience to provide essential administrative support to our Varian team. In this role, you will assist in coordinating airfreight shipments, ensuring that all documentation is accurately prepared, and maintaining effective communication with team members and external partners. Due to the time-sensitive nature of the Varian business, precise work and timely support are critical to ensuring smooth operations and avoiding any delays or mistakes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Administrative Support: Assist in day-to-day logistics operations, including scheduling shipments, updating shipment tracking, and ensuring accurate data entry into the system & processing payables and receivables.
• Document Preparation: Prepare and review airfreight documentation (AWB, customs forms, invoices) to ensure compliance and accuracy before submission.
• Team Coordination: Support the Varian team by providing real-time updates on shipments and any changes in schedules, facilitating smooth communication between internal and external stakeholders.
• Issue Tracking: Monitor shipments for potential delays or issues, quickly communicating these to the team and offering administrative assistance in resolving them.
• Compliance Support: Assist in ensuring all necessary documentation complies with IATA regulations and local customs requirements, especially for high-priority Varian shipments.
• Filing and Reporting: Organize and maintain logistics files and generate reports as needed to provide insights into the status of shipments and overall logistics performance.

• Attention to Detail: Capable of handling detailed administrative work, ensuring accuracy in documentation and data entry.
• Strong Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to respond quickly and clearly to team members and external vendors.
• Time Management: Able to manage and prioritize tasks effectively to support time-sensitive operations.
• Team Support: A proactive team player who can anticipate the needs of the Varian team and provide efficient administrative assistance.
• Problem-Solving: Able to identify and communicate potential issues in a timely manner, helping the team avoid delays.
Qualifications:
• Previous experience in logistics or supply chain, with a focus on airfreight preferred.
• Strong organizational and administrative skills.
• Knowledge of airfreight documentation and IATA regulations is a plus.
• Proficiency in logistics software and MS Office Suite.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
