The Role:
We are seeking a Junior Area Manager to lead and accelerate our commercial development across Africa and the Indian Ocean.
This is a high-impact, field-oriented role combining strategic business development, key account management, and brand stewardship. The successful candidate will act as a trusted partner to both our international brand principals and our regional retail clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Development
• Define and execute the regional commercial strategy
• Identify new distribution opportunities across duty free and domestic retail
• Negotiate commercial agreements and annual trading terms
• Develop sustainable, long-term client partnerships
Brand Management & Execution
• Ensure optimal brand positioning and assortment strategy by market
• Monitor pricing, sell-out performance, and competitive activity
• Coordinate launches, promotional plans and merchandising initiatives
• Guarantee excellence in brand visibility and retail execution
Operational Coordination
• Work closely with logistics, finance, and marketing teams to ensure smooth execution
• Optimise stock flow and consolidation opportunities
• Provide regular reporting and market intelligence to management and brand partners
Field Presence
• Conduct regular market visits across the region
• Build strong local relationships and maintain a high level of market awareness
Profile:
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in commercial roles within luxury, premium FMCG or travel retail
• Strong knowledge of African and/or Indian Ocean markets is highly desirable
• Proven ability to manage key accounts and negotiate at senior level
• Strategic mindset combined with strong operational follow-through
• Autonomous, structured and results-driven
• Fluent in both French and English (essential)
• Willingness to travel frequently
